) Set quietly in the heart of San Polo, this Italian spot offers a genuine slice of Venetian dining away from the bustle of more tourist-heavy streets. The menu leans into local flavors with a balanced focus on seafood and meat, including dishes like velvety Venetian-style veal liver served with soft polenta and tender pink tuna panfried simply with Himalayan salt. Small plates and appetizers such as creamed salt cod with crispy bread or a mix of traditional lagoon fish set the tone for a leisurely meal.
The atmosphere is cozy and casual, feeling more like a tucked-away taverna than a loud, crowded restaurant. It tends to attract a mix of visitors and locals who appreciate the quiet ambiance and thoughtful wine list, with both house selections and local bottles available. Despite its relaxed vibe, dinner reservations are recommended, especially for those seeking a calm spot for solo dining or intimate groups.
People often come here for the combination of well-crafted seafood dishes, approachable wines, and a dessert menu that includes Venetian biscuits with mascarpone cream and a gentle Crema Catalana. Coffee and late-night bites are also on offer, making it a comfortable place to linger, whether stopping by for a quick bite or a longer dinner. Service is friendly and attentive without feeling intrusive, enhancing the warm, grounded experience.

"The fish was almost creamy tender and moist - maybe cooked with the vegetables."
"Food was ok but service not good, waiter distracted and paid no attention."
"Food 4/5 good in general and other plates served around us seemed tasty as well."
5 Probably best food we had in Venice. Tagliolini al limone was like nothing I have had before. The owner was very friendly and polite, too.
5 We just happened upon this place while walking and stopped for an impromptu dinner and drink. I had a Limone Tagliatelle with Shrimp Special and it was incredible. The bread was fresh, the service was very pleasant, I would highly recommend!
5 Seared scallops with carrot purée and almonds was so delicious! Lobster linguine was also really good. But the dessert was amazing! White chocolate and strawberries . Service was fantastic.
5 We walked past this restaurant on our way back to our accommodation and the warm presence of the lady who was standing by the door greeted us with such welcoming energy. The staff were really kind and the atmosphere was cosy and friendly. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced.
5 Best meal I've had in Venice. A favorite with Veneziano, not an overpriced tourist trap. Tucked away in San Polo in an alleyway that people walk right by. Rustic taverna atmosphere. Menu of both meat and fish, reasonably priced. Good house wine by the glass, or an extensive, local bottle menu. Food was superb. Service was spectacular. Highly recommended. 2 thumbs
5 Happened on the place when looking for dinner. Had some great food here - Paccheri alla Scogliera was sublime and so was the La Fritturina di Mare e la Polentina. Compliments to the chef, and compliments also to the great host.
5 Great seafood, affordable prices and really nice and friendly waiter.Cool interior design.Would recommend for a lunch or dinner in city center
5 We had a great last evening in Venice here. Service was very nice and she helped us with an extra smile when beer was spilled and kids wanted to draw etc. Food is delicious and we really liked the todays special ”Black pasta with pistaccio and scallops” but grilled fish and shellfish with polenta was also great. Thank you.
